Genius
If you know the current day, date, and approximate time, you will pass my genius exam. My flawless logic is based on facts set out below. Fact 1) Thousands of years ago “someone” realized there were weather “seasons” that repeated. With that realization, they began calling the cold season “winter”, the following warm season “spring”, the next hot season “summer”, and finally the colorful season “fall”, before repeating with “winter”.With the annual recurrence of “spring”, the concept of a “year” was established which people began counting. The result – I am writing this Smile in 2026. Fact 2) With the concept of “year” settled, the need to divide its roughly 360 days became an issue. The agreement they settled on had 12 units called “months” in the year. Each “month” was then given a special name. The result - I am writing this (May Smile) in April 2026. Fact 3) With the “months” named the need for names of the days in each month became obvious. They could only come up with seven really good names, so they decided to simply repeat them four time each month. The result was called a “week”. The result - I am writing this on Wednesday the 29th day of April 2026. Fact 4) After “days’ got their names, naturally somebody else decided to divide each day into 24 units called “hours”, and each “hour” should consist of 60 “minutes”, and each minute should consist of 60 “seconds”. The result – it’s about the 12th hour of the day (which is later called "noon") and I’m going to eat lunch soon. Because it took humanity thousands of years to accomplish this complicated calendar journey, and you’ve mastered it in a few short years, you are more than qualified to be certified as a Genius. Moral: If you would like a frame-able “Certificate of Genius” noting your status, please let me know and I will provide it. |
