invisible people

Have you ever wondered if religion works? I’m not talking about walking on water or healing lepers. I am talking about having a life of peace and satisfaction - when the joy in your life fills you up and you lose the urge to fix something or somebody. I am not discriminating against any religion or denomination. Jews, Christians, and Muslims have been working on it for literally thousands of years. Throw in Mormons, Hindus, Humanists, Taoists, Atheists, Agnostics, Pagans, and the Buddha - and we pretty well cover a big chunk of 7 billion people working on finding peace and satisfaction. When we assume the goal of being at peace is realistic, we are faced with a question. Where do these folks who found satisfaction and joy hang out? It doesn’t appear they flock to church leadership positions. My experience is they have just as much crazy in their lives as we do. My theory. When people find that place of peace, joy, and satisfaction they become invisible. They are the ones who are always helpful and never try to make you do “it” their way. They willingly share their gifts and wisdom with anyone who asks, but if you are not asking they are satisfied with allowing you to believe what you want to believe. They are the ones who find pleasure in your pleasure. Moral – The true Christmas message is "Religion is a disappearing act". |
